product description

Barium Titanate for Electronic Ceramics: Barium titanate (BaTiO₃, CAS 12047-27-7) is a functional ceramic material with a perovskite structure. Its dielectric, ferroelectric, and piezoelectric properties depend on particle characteristics, composition, and processing conditions.

Particle Size and Purity: Specify whether nanometer or submicron powder is required, together with purity, impurity limits, and particle size distribution. Primary particle size and agglomerate size should be distinguished, with measurement methods agreed before ordering.

Specific Surface Area and Modification: BET specific surface area, Ba/Ti molar ratio, crystal phase, moisture content, and dopant composition influence dispersion, sintering, and electrical performance. Please identify whether undoped, doped, or surface-modified powder is required. Specifications and availability must be confirmed for the selected grade.

MLCC Applications: Powders intended for multilayer ceramic capacitors require careful control of particle size, distribution, purity, dispersion, and composition. Suitability should be evaluated against dielectric layer thickness, electrode compatibility, and firing conditions.

PTC Thermistor Applications: PTC ceramics typically require donor-doped barium titanate and controlled processing to develop semiconducting behavior. Dopant type, transition temperature, resistance characteristics, and sintering atmosphere should be specified.

Piezoelectric Ceramic Applications: Barium titanate can be used in lead-free piezoelectric ceramics. Performance depends on composition, density, grain structure, and poling conditions. MLCC, PTC, and piezoelectric grades should not be treated as interchangeable.

Handling and Storage: Avoid generating or inhaling dust, particularly when handling fine or nanoscale powders. Use local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protection, gloves, and eye protection as specified in the SDS and workplace risk assessment. Store tightly sealed in a cool, dry place to limit moisture uptake and contamination.
